We are feeling very festive right now and consider it nothing short of brilliant that The Conran Shop Christmas stocking has reached the heady heights of stylist stardom. Last week, seven movers and shakers in the fashion and interiors worlds brooded over the bounty of treats and selected their top 10 must-have items this Christmas. Now, we’re not boasting too much about the sheer expanse of amazing stuff but it turns out that our guest editors are serious Conran Shop junkies and struggled to stick to just 10. We know how they feel.
The seven style gurus include Editors, Founders, Creative Directors and Bloggers who are hoping for everything from notebooks for scribbling on the go to armchairs for weekend lounging. ShortList Style Director, Adrian Clark, chose something to satisfy all facets of his personality from Hope & Greenwood sweet treats to a 1970’s feel Mac book sleeve that lends an air of impeccable style. Stella Magazine’s Fashion and Beauty buff, Kate Rose Morris, has her fingers crossed for a comfy new armchair and home accents in soft cashmere and pretty porcelain. Offering a little inspiration to the the techno-crazed consumer, many of our guest editors had a slight wobbly knee moment over our camera collections, many were hoping that Father Christmas would drop in with some kind of Leica shaped loveliness.
If you are looking for a flash of inspiration you can check out the full edit of 70 hand-picked gifts here and immerse yourself in some of the most stylish picks from The Conran Shop. From luxurious bath and beauty bits to statement making lighting and winter-warming textiles, there is something to suit everyone in our stocking wish lists. Thank you to our special guests for getting on our Christmas crusade, we promise we won’t copy you too much (anyone fancy a reproduction of Adrian Clark’s living room!?).
And now for something a little different…
Hopefully you will have also seen that festive shindigs have been rife recently with a host of in store activities to make your Christmas shopping a whole lot more enjoyable. With recent events including family fun days, book signings and delicious tastings, there has been a lot to talk about. This week, the pampering powers of the cosmetics world take over with the Chelsea store’s Spa Day on Thursday. Full details can be found here, but suffice to say that there is everything from free manicures to product demonstrations, eyelash master-classes to shaving tips and a pop-up barber for the guys. With niche brands like Paperself Eyelashes to traditional chemists D.R Harris and gentleman’s grooming station Mr Natty, it would be an understatement to say we were a little excited.
Quite clearly it isn’t enough that you can pick from an endless quantity of perfect gifts, The Conran Shop want to spread a little festive cheer and offer some light relief to make your trip that little bit more rewarding.
